Amplify Day ONE:

“Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.” - Psalm 145:3

Amplify 2018 - Student check-in was a little rough on the first day—students were required to give up their cell phones so that they could be fully present throughout their time at Amplify.

After check-in the students got their photos taken with a white brick backdrop, and they held some pretty neat HAMplify signs! Then the students loaded up on buses and made their way to the Bluefield campus. They got to experience what it is like to be on a college campus first hand! They dined on burgers and hotdogs at the campus cafeteria. They had an award show to celebrate 'Merica Night, in Harman Chapel. Students were decked out in red, white, and blue—patriotic themed, and the best dressed won a trophy.

After the ceremony, Pastor Mark Estepp shared the message on Psalm 145:3, highlighting the greatness of God. It was an emotional experience for students. Eleven students committed their lives to Christ! Mark notably mentioned that “One of the most powerful things about God is that He relentlessly pursues us.”

They finished the service by singing “Reckless love.” Afterward, they broke into small groups and talked with their counselors about what they had learned. To finish the night, the students ate cake and played some games in the Dome Gymnasium.
