Relationships

SHOW ME YOUR FRIENDS, AND I’LL SHOW YOU YOUR FUTURE.

Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.

Proverbs 13:20 (NIV)

The righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.

Proverbs 12:26 (NIV)

Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”   1 Corinthians 15:33 (NIV)

TWO THINGS I WON’T LET MY FRIENDS DO

SIDETRACK ME FROM GOD’S PLAN.

Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.”    Matthew 16:23

CONSTANTLY TEMPT ME TO SIN.

[Potiphar’s wife] caught [Joseph] by his cloak and said, “Come to bed with me!” But he left his cloak in her hand and ran out of the house.    Genesis 39:12 (NIV)

ONE GOD-HONORING FRIEND COULD CHANGE YOUR LIFE AND LEGACY.

When he came to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he really was a disciple. But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus. So Saul stayed with them and moved about freely in Jerusalem, speaking boldly in the name of the Lord.

Acts 9:26 - 28 (NIV)

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts.   Acts 2:42 - 46 (NIV)
