GOOD NEWS

So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.

This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”    Luke 2:4 - 14

ALL. - good news to all people.

The GOOD NEWS  is that Jesus is for all people.

Where do you come down in the great neighbor debate?

"A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him, and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the road, and when he saw the man he passed by on the other side.”

Luke 10:30 - 31

"When James and John saw this, they asked, 'Lord, do you want us to call fire down from heaven to destroy them?'"      Luke 9:54

“Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn, and took care of him. The next day, he took out two silver coins, gave them to the innkeeper, ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense that you have had.’"

Luke 10:34 - 35

"Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?' and the expert in the law replied, 'The one who had mercy on him.'"    Luke 10:36-37a

Who is my neighbor?

Then Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”      Luke 10:37b

"Now, just as the Father sent me, so I send you."   John 20:21b

You … and you … and you.

Now you be part of the good news team of great joy, but here's the deal … it's to all people.

"As the Father sent me, so I send you."      John 20:21b
