DISCOVERING THE PEACE OF GOD

For a child is born to us, a son is given… And he will be called… Prince of Peace.   Isaiah 9:6 (NLT)

Jesus: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27 (NIV)

THREE KINDS OF PEACE JESUS OFFERS YOU

PEACE WITH GOD 

And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. 

2 Corinthians 5:18 (NLT)

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Romans 5:1 (NLT)

For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!   Romans 5:10 (NIV)

PEACE WITHIN 

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace.   Colossians 3:15a (NIV)

PEACE WITH OTHERS 

He did this by ending the system of law with its commandments and regulations. He made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in himself one new people from the two groups. Together as one body, Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of his death on the cross, and our hostility toward each other was put to death.   Ephesians 2:15 - 16 (NLT)

There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.   Galatians 3:28 (NLT)

THREE ESSENTIALS TO ENJOYING GOD’S PEACE

FIND CLARITY

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people.   Ephesians 1:18 (NIV)

See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness.   Luke 11:35 (NIV)

HAVE AN ATTITUDE OF HUMILITY

“God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”   James 4:6 (NIV)

Lord, you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us.   Isaiah 26:12 (NIV)

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.   Psalm 34:18 (NIV)

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.   Philippians 4:6 - 7 (NIV)

BELIEVE JESUS CAN HELP

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”   Matthew 11:28 - 29 (NIV)
