Game Day Sunday:
Not Just Spectators
What if we've become too comfortable being spectators when it comes to our faith?
1. JESUS DIDN’T CALL SPECTATORS — HE CALLED DISCIPLES
Luke 9:23 “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” (NIV)
2. KNOW YOUR ROLE
1 Corinthians 12:12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. (NIV)
1 Corinthians 12:27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. (NIV)
· There are no spectators in the body of Christ.
Romans 12:6a We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. (NIV)
3. YOUR ROLE ISN’T ABOUT YOU
Philippians 2:3-4 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. (NIV)
Mark 10:45 “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (NIV)
