Get In the Game
THE GAMEPLAN FOR LIFE
“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” Matthew 3:2 (NKJV)
IT’S TIME
This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living. Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see. Don’t participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity and immoral living, or in quarreling and jealousy. Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires. Romans 13:11 - 14 (NLT)
TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR SCHEDULE
Better one handful with tranquility than two handfuls with toil and chasing after the wind. Ecclesiastes 4:6 (NIV)
This is what the LORD says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.” Jeremiah 6:16a (NIV)
REGULATE WHAT YOU ALLOW TO ENTER YOUR MIND AND BODY
“I have the right to do anything,” you say - but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything” - but not everything is constructive. 1 Corinthians 10:23 (NIV)
Don’t let me drift toward evil or take part in acts of wickedness. Don’t let me share in the delicacies of those who do wrong. Psalm 141:4 (NLT)
ORGANIZE YOUR FINANCES
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:21 (NIV)
LIVE YOUR LIFE INTENTIONALLY
Sluggards do not plow in season; so at harvest time they look but find nothing. Proverbs 20:4 (NIV)
Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Psalm 90:12 (NIV)
KEY PRINCIPLES
YOU MUST KNOW YOUR PURPOSE
All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. Psalm 139:16 (NIV)
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
YOU MUST HAVE A PLAN
Sensible people keep their eyes glued on wisdom, but a fool’s eyes wander to the ends of the earth. Proverbs 17:24 (NLT)
YOU MUST HAVE ACCOUNTABILITY
Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Ecclesiastes 4:9 - 10 (NLT)
