MISSION at HF:

We Are A Church With Purpose.

On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.

Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” John 20:19 - 23

“If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” John 20:23

“As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” John 20:21

We will never understand what it means for us to be sent until we understand what it meant for Jesus to be sent.

What did it mean for Jesus to be sent?

His Identity

No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known. John 1:18

His Intentionality

Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!

Philippians 2:6 - 8

His Compassion

His Sacrifice

God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

HOW ARE WE SENT?

Our purpose is God’s mission to see people saved and experience life with Jesus.

God’s Purpose Will Cost Us.

God’s Purpose is Totally Worth it.
