October 9 // "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness"

 FLIP THE SCRIPT

“God blesses those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.”      Matthew 5:6

He leads me in the paths of righteousness.     Psalm 23:3

RIGHTEOUSNESS simply means BEING RIGHT WITH GOD

Living right as God intends

It’s the only way to live.

It’s the only way to heaven.

Righteousness is the road to life and path to immortality. Proverbs 12:28

The GOOD NEWS of the GOSPEL:

God’s plan to make me right with himself

I’m a sinner and I can’t make myself righteous.

No one can ever be made right in God’s sight by doing what his law commands, because the more we know God’s law, the clearer it becomes that we can’t keep it.      Romans 3:20

God sent Jesus to pay for my sins so I could be declared righteous.

The wages of sin is death.      Romans 6:23a

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life Christ Jesus our Lord.      Romans 6:23

This is my body and this is my blood which is given for you.

1 Corinthians 11:24b

God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:21

I accept by faith what God did for me.

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for you believe with your heart, resulting in righteousness, and you confess with your mouth, resulting in salvation.     Romans 10:9 - 10

Jesus says, “I am the way, I am truth, and I am life.  No one comes to the Father but me.”      John 14:6

HOW DO I MAINTAIN MY SPIRITUAL HUNGER FOR GOD?

Realize how much God loves you.

Enough to send His only son to die for you.

Develop a hunger for the right stuff.

Stop filling up on junk food.

A wise person is hungry for truth while the fool feeds on trash.  Proverbs 15:14

Give the first part of your day to God.

“But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”       Matthew 6:33

Study God’s Word every day.

All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting,  for training in righteousness…
