Vision Sunday

VISION SUNDAY

Where there is no vision, the people perish…    Proverbs 29:18a (KJV)

Then the Lord replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.”    Habakkuk 2:2 (NIV)

Mission: To help people experience life with Jesus

Vision: Make disciples, Love our communities, and Change the world.   

Make disciples 

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”    Matthew 28:19 - 20 (NIV)

Love our communities 

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”   Matthew 5:16 (NIV)

Change the world  

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”    Acts 1:8 (NIV)

All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.    Acts 2:44 - 47 (NIV)  

WE WILL GIVE OUR WHOLE LIVES TO HIM.

When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus' knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!” 

 …Then Jesus said to Simon, “Don't be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.” So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.    Luke 5:8, 10b - 11 (NIV)

WE CAN ACCOMPLISH MORE TOGETHER THAN ALONE.

There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.      Acts 4:34 - 35 (NIV)

WE WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:20 - 21 (NIV)

GOD DOESN’T CALL THE EQUIPPED, BUT HE EQUIPS THE WILLING.

When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.    Acts 4:13 (NIV)
