Vision Sunday
VISION SUNDAY
Where there is no vision, the people perish… Proverbs 29:18a (KJV)
Then the Lord replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. Habakkuk 2:2 (NIV)
Mission: To help people experience life with Jesus
Vision: Make disciples, Love our communities, and Change the world.
MAKE DISCIPLES
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)
LOVE OUR COMMUNITIES
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16 (NIV)
CHANGE THE WORLD
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 (NIV)
WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE TO LIVE WITH CLARITY AND FOCUS WHEN GOD GIVES US A CALLING?
“When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.” Nehemiah 1:4 (NIV)
CLARITY COMES FROM TIME WITH GOD
“I set out during the night with a few others. I had not told anyone what my God had put in my heart to do for Jerusalem.” Nehemiah 2:12 (NIV)
STAY FOCUS IN THE FACE OF OPPOSITION
“I am doing a great work and I cannot come down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and come down to you?” Nehemiah 6:3 (NASB)
VISION REQUIRES SHARED OWNERSHIP
“So we rebuilt the wall till all of it reached half its height, for the people worked with all their heart.” Nehemiah 4:6 (NIV)
GUARDED HEARTS AND FOCUSED LIVES
“Those who carried materials did their work with one hand and held a weapon in the other.” Nehemiah 4:17 (NIV)
“Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your families.” Nehemiah 4:14 (NIV)
“They realized that this work had been done with the help of our God.” Nehemiah 6:16b(NIV)
