We come together because we are commanded to by our Lord.
Do not neglect in meeting together. Hebrews 10:25
Devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching. 1 Timothy 4:13
We engage in corporate worship because this is when and where the Holy Spirit shows up to teach, inspire, and interpret.
“For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Matthew 18:20
The hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. John 4:23
It’s just more engaging to worship together as a group.
When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up. 1 Corinthians 14:26
Be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart. Ephesians 5:19
