February 12 Transformation week 2
Transformation
From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”
As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.
“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed him.
Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.
Matthew 4:17 - 22
Transformation happens as you experience life with Jesus.

Experience Life with Jesus
“Come, follow me,” Jesus said … Matthew 4:19
Become like Jesus
“The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher.” Luke 6:40
And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 3:18
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:14
Do What Jesus Taught Us To Do
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” Matthew 7:24
“If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever - the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.” John 14:15 - 17
Encountering God Personally
“Come, follow me,” Jesus said … Matthew 4:19
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33
Embodying Jesus Collectively
“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
John 13:35
Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:12
Expressing the Gospel Purposefully
