Let's Get Ready

 LET’S GET READY

Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.    Romans 6:13 (NLT)

PURIFY MY HEART

If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.    2 Timothy 2:21 (NLT)

Joshua told the people, “Purify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do great wonders among you.”    Joshua 3:5 (NLT)

But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.    1 John 1:9 (NLT)

SANCTIFY MY BODY

Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.      1 Corinthians 6:19 - 20 (NLT)

You made me; you created me. Now give me the sense to follow your commands.

Psalm 119:73 (NLT)

All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.    1 Corinthians 9:25 (NLT)

SIMPLIFY MY LIFE

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.    Hebrews 12:1 (NLT)

But Jesus told him, “Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God.”    Luke 9:62 (NLT)

Soldiers don’t get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then they cannot please the officer who enlisted them.     2 Timothy 2:4 (NLT)

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.”      Matthew 16:24 (NLT)

“No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.”     Matthew 6:24 (NLT)

FORTIFY MY FAITH

So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you have suffered physically for Christ, you have finished with sin.  You won’t spend the rest of your lives chasing your own desires, but you will be anxious to do the will of God.    1 Peter 4:1 - 2 (NLT)

Do not waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives’ tales. Instead, train yourself to be godly.    1 Timothy 4:7 (NLT)
