“Live Like This”

Two things that busyness and being overwhelmed robbed them of:

A sense of peace

An understanding of identity

How do you stand firm in a world that tries to knock you down? 

Walk in love.

Walk in light.

Walk in wisdom. 

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children  and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.   Ephesians 5:1 - 2 (NIV)

How would my relationships and interactions with others change if I loved everyone the way that Jesus loves?

Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people.   Ephesians 5:3 (NLT)

Greed: an unhealthy craving for something that I don’t have

So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise.  Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life.   Ephesians 5:15 - 18a (NLT)

Wisdom: thinking clearly about unclear things 

Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,  singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.   Ephesians 5:18b - 20 (NLT)
