Songs of the Season

“This is how you should pray, Our Father in heaven.”      Matthew 6:9a   

WHAT IS GOD REALLY LIKE?  

GOD IS COMPASSIONATE

As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who honor Him.       Psalms 103:13

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.     Psalms 34:18

GOD IS  CONSISTENT

For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God?      Psalms 18:31 

Even if we are faithless, He remains faithful for He cannot disown Himself.       2 Timothy 2:13

My God is changeless in His love for me.    Psalms 59:10a                         

GOD IS AVAILABLE.  

God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble. Psalms 46:1  

REMEMBER THIS ABOUT GOD:

God is never too busy for me.  

God loves to meet my needs.

You know how to give good gifts to your children.  How much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him.     Matthew 7:11

God is sympathetic to my hurts.  

The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.      Psalms 34:19

GOD IS ALMIGHTY

Who is like you, Lord God Almighty? You, Lord, are mighty, and your faithfulness surrounds you.      Psalms 89:8 

God is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of – infinitely beyond our highest prayers or desires or thoughts or hopes.      Ephesians 3:20

What are you struggling with today that you’re trying to carry that is weighing you down? 

“Jesus said, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.  If you really knew Me, you would know my Father as well.’”     John 14:6 - 7a
